Solution 1.
- Open the Add / remove program option from Control Panel.
- Upon opening the Add / Remove Program section you will see a list of programs that have been installed on your computer.
- In the top section of the Add / Remove program section you will see a small check box saying Show updates click on that.
- Scroll down till you see Windows XP – Software Updates.Remove everything that is related to the Windows media player 11
Solution 2:
- Start the computer in safe mode. ( You can do that by restarting the computer and by pressing F8 while the computer is restarting.)
- Click Safe Mode, and the press ENTER.
- Go to Start -> Run and type "appwiz.cpl" ( dont type inverted commas "), and then click OK.
- Click Windows Media Player 11, and then click Remove.
- Follow the prompts to uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and then restart the computer when you are prompted.
Solution 3:
- Click Start -> Run, type "%windir%\$ntUninstallwmp11$\spuninst\spuninst.exe" ( dont type inverted commas "), and then click OK.
- Click Next, and then click Finish.
