It is said that the new features would include updated menu system, built-in screen capture tool, enhanced multimedia editing, background removal tool, stronger security features like protected document mode and author permissions.

Microsoft has also gone to war with Google by announcing a free web-based version of its Office software which would be competing in the cloud with Google's free online Docs suite which was launched three years ago. It seems that Microsoft has realized the true power of internet at last and so it is has now decided to compete Google in web arena.
