Yeah, the one with the guy with all the pins in his head. You might wonder why I’m making movie references in a review of a cell phone, but you’ll find it’s rather apt in describing the HTC Tilt 2.

The HTC Tilt 2 is a slider style smartphone that boasts the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system right out of the box. This in turn gives you immediate access to several Microsoft systems like Marketplace for Mobile and My Phone backup service. Also, you get mobile web, mobile email, conference call capability, speakerphone, voice recorder, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, MP3 player and a battery capable of generating seven and a half hours of talk time on a single charge.

There’s no doubt that the HTC Tilt 2 has a lot of amazing stuff in here, but you’re probably still wondering about my earlier metaphor. Why is this thing like Hellraiser, you wonder? Because the HTC Tilt 2 is EXACTLY like the puzzle box.

There are incredible things in here–in cell phone terms they’re absolute wonders–but getting into them is incredibly complex and difficult. The controls on the HTC Tilt 2 are also the greatest problem with the whole thing. I had a really tough time getting around on this thing, and that shocked me.

But once you finally manage to get around, the variety of things available here should solve most any problem you may happen to have that can be solved by a cell phone. The HTC Tilt 2 is an incredible phone that just can’t help but get in its own way.

The Good

Dizzying array of tools

The Bad

Getting to them is a hellish ordeal

Score 7 / 10

Silicon Power Armor A70 Rugged Portable Hard Drive

Silicon Power launched the new Armor A70 Portable Hard Drive. Basically there are three different ways of uninstalling Windows Media Player 11

Solution 1.

Open the Add / remove program option from Control Panel.

Upon opening the Add / Remove Program section you will see a list of programs that have been installed on your computer.

In the top section of the Add / Remove program section you will see a small check box saying Show updates click on that.

Scroll down till you see Windows XP – Software Updates.Remove everything that is related to the Windows media player 11

And thats how you can uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and if this doesnt work for you follow Solution 2.

Solution 2:

Start the computer in safe mode. ( You can do that by restarting the computer and by pressing F8 while the computer is restarting.)

Click Safe Mode, and the press ENTER.

Go to Start -> Run and type "appwiz.cpl" ( dont type inverted commas "), and then click OK.

Click Windows Media Player 11, and then click Remove.

Follow the prompts to uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and then restart the computer when you are prompted.

If Windows Media Player 11 is not removed, try Solution 3.

Solution 3:

Click Start -> Run, type "%windir%\$ntUninstallwmp11$\spuninst\spuninst.exe" ( dont type inverted commas "), and then click OK.

Click Next, and then click Finish.

Hope this post would help you uninstall Windows Media Player 11

I-Got-Control IRB1 iPhone Remote Control

Here is the i-Got-Control, just another iPhone/iPod accessory to turn your iPhone, iPod touch and iPad into an universal learning remote control. Jail breaking is actually a privilege escalation. To understand the jailbreak we will first have to understand privilage escalation. In Privilage escalation a bug or design flaw in a software application is exploited to gain access to resources which normally would have been protected from an application or user. The result is that the application performs actions with more privileges than intended by the application developer or system administrator.

Jailbreaking allows iPhone and iPod Touch users to run unofficial code on their devices bypassing Apple's official distribution mechanism, thus allowing them to install thirdparty applications previously unavailable through the App Store using unofficial installers such as Cydia and Icy.

There are a wide range of programs available for jailbroke phones including , mediaplayers, plug-ins, utilitiy programs, themes, and more. It annoying when we have to search for important messages from all that junk. All this happen because we often give away our email address to get logged in to certain website, either to download something or use their services. In many cases these websites sell our email addresses to others who keep on sending us junk mails and promoting different products and services which we don’t need.

Temporary / Disposable Email Account as a Solution To Spam

There is a solution to stop these websites from getting access to our email. We can use Temporary or Disposable Email Service which would automatically expire after some specific time. You can use these temporary email services to receive and send emails within the given time frame.

Benefits of Temporary/Disposable Email Accounts

- You get rid of spam mails coming into your mailbox
- They can protect your mailbox from exploits. spoofs, hoaxes
- Signup and/or registration is not required to create a temporary or Disposable email account
- They automatically expire after a certain period of time

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Expiry time of each temporary Email service is different. Some of these accounts may expire after one to few hours and others may expire after a week. So you should create an account on email service which can fulfill your time requirements.
Also many of these temporary email services forward emails to your usual account as a result, your real email address will always remain hidden. But this mail forwarding is not such a good feature as Spam mail can also reach you if you have registered for a longer period.

HERE IS THE LIST OF TEMPORARY EMAIL SERVICES

10 Minute Mail
In this service you will be given a temporary email address. Just few months ago Adobe released a Flash-based Media Player called Adobe Media Player, which is an online and offline player that is capable of tagging, rating, and sharing videos. Google also tried to challenge the monoply of Microsoft's Internet Explorer by launching Chrome, though it failed to cause any serious damage to Internet Explorer's Market share. Google has also ventured into Operating system domain in which Microsoft rules. By announcing to launch Chrome OS they became the competetors of Microsoft in internet OS market. Microsft had announced earlier this year that they have the plans to introduce internet OS, which they have named Gezelle.

But Microsft is not sitting quitely and it bit back by releasing a Flash competitor called Silverlight. It also tried to improve its share in search engine market but their rebranding attempts have failed to increase Microsoft search engine market share. As only msn users and live user switched to Bing.

Jailbreak iPhone 3GS: Using purplerain or Dev Team's updated redsnow

Dev Team has released updated versions of redsnow jailbreak and ultrasnow carrier unlock. According to chrome blog Google Chrome OS team is working with a number of technology companies which include variety of PC and chipmakers, and another software company. These companies would design and build devices that deliver an extraordinary end user experience. These companies include Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.

HP, Lenovo, Acer and ASUS are all netbook manufactures and infact Acer and ASUS are the two largest netbook manufacturers worldwide. So its no surprise that these companies are helping Google to build Chrome OS which is targeting netbooks. Freescale, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments are chip companies that Google is working with to ensure a good user experience. And from the choice of partners it looks like that google would release products off the ARM or Atom processors. The focus of the google seems to be speed: fast boot and fast surfing.

Jailbreak iPhone 3GS with Redsnow

There is a great news for all the iPhone 3GS owners, iPhone Development team has released the new version of Redsnow o.8 and now by using this version they can jailbreak the latest firmware easily. To jailbreak iPhone 3GS using RedSnow for Windows and Mac users follow this link.

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 25px; People had been waiting for this OS since google launched its browser chrome and their wait ends now. Google has finally announced its plans to launch its new operating system. But this operating system would unlike other operating systems. It would be in reality an operating system of new era, an internet OS. It would change the perception of how an operating system should be like.

Chrome OS would be a hybrid OS and browser. According to google it will run software created using web techologies and in one blog post their executives wrote

"Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we're already talking to partners about the project, and we'll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

"Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work."

This revolutionary OS can be a great threat to OS giant Microsoft. But it has to be seen wether people are ready for this new OS and is the timing right to bring such a revolutionary technology. Its latest version is 3.75MB in size. It is easy to use and portable PDF reader which is quite faster than the Adobe reader. It provides all the basic functionality a user needs and has quite a lot of features and few add-ons that can fulfill the requirements a common user. With firefox plugin users can view and work with PDF files loaded in Foxit Reader with Firefox web browser.

The ad-banners it displays may be annoying to some and also a major problem with it is that the hyperlinks in some PDF documents which are otherwise fully capable of rendering are un-clickable.

But overall its a quite good software for viewing PDF's and also many of the bugs have been removed in the newer version.

NOTE: Linux and mobile versions are also available.

Firefox 3.5 : the latest firefox

Mozilla has unleashed the latest version of Firefox and people are going crazy for it.
